INFLUENZA VACCINE, ANNUAL SEASONAL FUNDED INFLUENZA PROGRAM 2011

• Your influenza vaccine orders will contain either Influvac®, Vaxigrip® or Fluvax® - all three influenza vaccines can be used for adults eligible to receive vaccination under the “Annual Seasonal Funded Influenza Program”.

• Fluvax® is not registered for use in children aged less than 6 months and under 5 years of age in 2011. Do not use Fluvax® for this age group.

• Influvac® or Vaxigrip®are recommended for use in children but you do not have to reserve these vaccines only for use in children. The dosage of Influvac® or Vaxigrip® for children from 6 months to less than 3 years of age is 0.25ml (half an adult dose) of either vaccine.

• Pneumovax 23® can be ordered when you place your influenza order – provide stock on hand for this vaccine as well as your influenza vaccine stock on hand.
