This workshop will cover:
  • Assess the physical, emotional, psychological and social needs of the incontinent client
  • Assist in implementing a plan of care, including treatment, education, rehabilitation and necessary modifications, required to meet the needs of an incontinent person
Learning Objectives
  • Enhance understanding of the definition and concepts of culture and cultural diversity, cross culture communication and cultural competence
  • Raise awareness of diversity and how diversity may influence perception and communication
  • Increase understanding of cultures and their impact on behaviours, perceptions and needs
  • Extend knowledge of communication styles and variations
  • Provide greater understanding of the need for systems-based tools and strategies to ensure patient safety in a culturally diverse environment
