Data Management

Managing data quality
Information data quality involves all of the following: completeness, reliability, consistency, timeliness, currency, accessibility, accuracy and precision.
The old saying "garbage in, garbage out" is still applicable where electronic information is concerned.  Usually people only start to look at their data quality when they try to extract some data and find it unacceptable, or it's not a true snapshot of their practice.

Where to start?
Patient demographic data: sex, date of birth, address, ATSI status, Medicare details
Clinical data: allergies
Baseline measurements: BP, height, weight, waist
Health summary components
All diagnoses to be coded or selected from the drop down list - no free text if possible
